| A long-time commercial and amateur radio operator (WA4LXC),
Mark was the transmitter manager for WUTZ FM, Summertown,
Tennessee, during the late 1970s and served as shipboard radio
operator on the Greenpeace flagship 'Rainbow Warrior' during the
early 1980s. As Telecommunication Supervisor at Solar Electronics
International, he developed two-way solar powered
telecommunications systems for rural applications, designed
satellite TV receivers, and prototyped radiation detection
equipment marketed under the 'Nukebuster' and 'Radiation Alert'
brand names.
Prior to forming MLE INC, the Author served as Technical Editor at Satellite Orbit magazine, U.S. Bureau Chief at Satellite World magazine, satellite columnist at Popular Communications magazine, and Contributing Editor to Satellite Direct, TVRO Dealer, Orbit Video, and Satellite Retailer magazines. He has also served twice as Master of Ceremonies for the national conventions of the Satellite Broadcasting Communication Association in the United States and hosted Asia's first regional conferences on home satellite TV technology which were held in Thailand during 1993 and 1994. |
